I have an older cousin who I worshipped when I was a kid. He would go on to teach me about punk rock (which I learned how to play), skateboarding (which I admired from afar), and a variety of other corruptions to my person.

My cousin had a friend named Blaine Graboyes who was as cool as he was. He’d often hang around our house and sometimes wore sunglasses when he went to sleep.

Fast forward twenty years. Social media had been invented. I saw Blaine’s name on Facebook…or was it Linkedin…and said hi. For the first time in two decades.
